About Aixa

Aixa recently graduated from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama where she acquired her MA in Creative Producing, and previously attended the University of East London, where she received First - Class Honours in her BA in Drama, Applied Theatre and Performance. She has professionally trained in a variety of dance styles across the world, with theatre credits including In the Heights, Cats the Musical and Les Misérables. Aixa has also performed in multiple choirs in Epcot's Candlelight Processional  (Disney World Orlando)

and in the legendary Carnegie Hall in New York City.

Currently the Director of Aixa Amarante Productions and Half A Girl Productions, Aixa uses theatre to explore the definition of "home" while incorporating global artistic elements as a tool to connect the international puzzle pieces of her identity. She uses her platform to bring beautiful, underrepresented and unheard stories to the stage, fighting to make the theatre workforce and industry more diverse and inclusive, as well as accessible - theatre is for everybody. She was most recently appointed Creative Producer at The Avieli Arthouse, an arts charity dedicated to promoting creative expression through innovative productions, co-creational workshops and community outreach projects, in the U.K. and Ghana which will launch in Autumn 2023.

Beginning her production experience in Miami's most famous belly dance festival RakstarAixa now thrives while working in both the commercial and subsidized theatre sector, not just in London, but internationally.
